FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Student Run Organization to Host Student Meet-and-Greet Breakfast with a Twist!
Bangkok, Thailand - September 20, 2009 – A Local Bangkok student run, student owned entertainment organization is showing students, not only how to pursue entrepreneurial goals, but how to twist things up and release stress after an invigorating semester full of the pressures of university life.
“The Melting Pot”, says organization spokesperson Gordon Eyong Oben, “is an organization for students that brings people from all over the world together in an informal environment not to discuss differences or politics, but to just get together to get to know each other better with no strings attached. What we have in common is that we all go to school and experience all the pressures and stress that university students are subjected to in this modern age.”
It is not unusual to hear 7 or 8 different languages being spoken in an elevator which only has 5 people in it. Indeed, Universities in Bangkok have large numbers of polyglots and people speaking 4, 5 or even 6 different languages are not even noticed or given the ‘special’ status they deserve.
“Some things I find that are universal among university students around the world are music, school pressures, peer pressures and a need to ‘unwind’ every now and then. To that end we have organized a Meet-and-Greet Breakfast with a twist. “ Mr. Oben explains, “This event starts at 9 pm October 14, 2009, in the evening where we get together to eat, dance, drink, sing, socialize, meet new friends and generally have fun, with no university representation what so ever and ends off with a breakfast early in the morning.”
In Bangkok, as well as all over Thailand, there are strict societal pressures; an unmarried couple kissing in public is frowned upon. On the other hand, being a 95% Buddhist based country there is a general acceptance and patience of all people’s social behaviors and religions, whatever it takes for each of us to reach our own path to nirvana.
The melting pot has set up a group on Facebook where you can find out more about this event or the organization in general.
